共享基金会(基金会)于老挝全国开展的「消除白内障致盲项目」，在本月从首都万象搬迁至琅勃拉邦107人民军医院。共享基金会理事高永文医生、总干事陈英凝教授、中国驻琅勃拉邦总领事张社平、广西壮族自治区卫健委主任杜振宗及老挝卫生部办公厅厅长Dr Chanthanom MANYTHIP，于11月17日于琅勃拉邦主持开幕仪式。截至11月17日，基金会与广西壮族自治区、山西省、黑龙江省及福建省医疗队在五个国家包括老挝、柬埔寨、吉布提、塞内加尔及毛里塔尼亚，共完成超过7000宗免费白内障手术，为无数患者重见光明。

This month, the GX Foundation (the Foundation) 's national project to Eliminate Cataract Blindness in Laos moved from the capital Vientiane to the 107 People's Army Hospital in Luang Prabang. Dr. Gao Yongwen, Director General of the Sharing Foundation; Professor Chen Yingning, Director General of the Sharing Foundation; Zhang Sheping, Consul General of China in Luang Prabang; Du Zhenzon, Director General of the Health Commission of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; and Dr Chanthanom MANYTHIP, Director General of the Office of the Ministry of Health of Laos, officiated at the opening ceremony in Luang Prabang on November 17. As of November 17, the foundation and medical teams from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Shanxi Province, Heilongjiang Province and Fujian Province had completed more than 7,000 free cataract surgeries in five countries, including Laos, Cambodia, Djibouti, Senegal and Mauritania, restoring sight to countless patients.

老挝项目由共享基金会与广西壮族自治区卫健委合作，是基金会全球首个项目。自去年9月起，广西医疗队在首都万象为当地人民提供免费白内障手术治疗，四批医疗队共完成超过2,300例免费白内障手术。在开幕仪式中，共享基金会理事高永文医生表示，老挝项目为一个全国性的项目，所以基金会在万象完成四期项目后，便迁至琅勃拉邦，为更多病人进行免费白内障手术。

The Laos project is a collaboration between the GX Foundation and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Health Commission, and is the foundation's first project in the world. Since September last year, the Guangxi medical team has provided free cataract surgery treatment to local people in the capital Vientiane, and four batches of medical teams have completed more than 2,300 free cataract surgeries. At the opening ceremony, Dr. Ko Wing-wen, director of the Sharing Foundation, said that the Laos project is a national project, so the foundation moved to Luang Prabang after the completion of the fourth phase of the project in Vientiane to perform free cataract surgery for more patients.

共享基金会总干事陈英凝教授指，「基金会在万象开展项目时，不少病人长途跋涉才能到达首都接受手术，当中有不乏来自琅勃拉邦的病人。在手术的第一天，就有三位双眼患有白内障病人接受基金会为他们进行的第二次手术。」她又十分感谢广西医疗队为项目的付出与貢献，让老挝白内障患者重见光明。

"During the Foundation's program in Vientiane, many patients, including those from Luang Prabang, traveled long distances to the capital for surgery. On the first day of surgery, three patients with cataracts in both eyes were treated by the Foundation for the second time," said Professor Chan Ying Ning, director general of the GX Foundation. She also thanked the Guangxi medical team for their efforts and contributions to the project, allowing cataract patients in Laos to see again.

今年是「一带一路」倡议十周年，共享基金会在五年前成立，旨在响应「一带一路」中的「共商、共建、共享」中的共享精神，并以医疗援助实践「民心相通」。在2023年10月，共享基金会的工作在第三届「一带一路」国际合作高峰论坛，被正式认证为「一带一路」「民心相通」务实成果。

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, and the Sharing Foundation was established five years ago to respond to the sharing spirit of "extensive consultation, joint contribution and sharing" in the Belt and Road Initiative, and practice "people-to-people connection" with medical assistance. In October 2023, the work of the Sharing Foundation at the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation was officially certified as a practical result of the Belt and Road Initiative "people-to-people connectivity".

广西壮族自治区卫健委主任杜振宗希望，「医疗队继承和发扬中国医疗队精神，发挥技术和经验优势，为老挝琅勃拉邦广大白内障患者送去光明，讲好中国故事、广西故事，谱写中老人民友好情谊新篇章。」

Du Zhenzong, director of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Health Commission, hoped that "the medical team will inherit and carry forward the spirit of the Chinese medical team, give full play to the advantages of technology and experience, bring light to the majority of cataract patients in Luang Prabang, Laos, tell the story of China and Guangxi, and write a new chapter in the friendship between the Chinese and Lao people."

今期援老挝广西医疗队共有7名医护，当中大部分早前已参与基金会在老挝及柬埔寨的项目，医疗队队长徐帆表示，「今次是我第三次参与基金会的援助项目，每一次行动，不仅是医治了眼疾，更是激发了希望，创造了无数个温暖感动的故事。」

Most of the seven members of the medical team have participated in the Foundation's projects in Laos and Cambodia. Xu Fan, leader of the medical team, said, "This is the third time I have participated in the Foundation's projects. Every action has not only cured eye diseases, but also inspired hope and created countless warm and touching stories."
